The dual architect-engineer/engineer-architect curriculum is a course of study that leads to the award of two diplomas, in seven years: the State Diploma in Architecture conferring the grade of Master and the Diploma in Engineering.

Program
During the third year of the first cycle and the entire second cycle, students validate 450 hours of teaching specific to engineering studies. These courses are provided by INSA, ENTPE and ECL, and as such are validated according to the institutions' internal rules.
The courses are specific to each institution:
- INSA Lyon: courses in mathematics, general mechanics, mechanics of continuous media, introduction to structural analysis, linear algebra, building thermics, introduction to numerical analysis, structural analysis methods, heat transfer, geotechnics and fluid mechanics.
- école centrale de Lyon: courses in mathematics, computer science, fluid and energy, electrical energy and systems control and materials engineering.
- ENTPE: courses in mathematics, physics, analysis, continuum mechanics, probability, scientific computing, soil mechanics and ecology
"Students are exempt from a maximum of 120 hours of teaching each year. The architectural design project course cannot be exempted. The list of exempted courses is defined for each graduating class and communicated to students in the pedagogical contract.
At the end of the three years, if they have obtained their State Architect Diploma - DEA, and validated their engineering school curriculum, students can apply to the engineering school where they followed their dual curriculum and complete their engineering studies in two years.
The three partner schools offer different specializations: development engineering or civil and environmental engineering at ENTPE, civil engineering and urban planning at INSA Lyon, and general engineering at ECL.
Career opportunities
Openings are very broad, with the possibility of dabbling in everything. The dual curriculum allows for international recognition, as in other countries, architectural training includes engineering.
