Presentation
In the context of climate change, growing inequalities and major environmental challenges, the issue of qualitatively increasing the habitability of our territories, conceived as non-renewable resources, appears to be central. The course Territoires fluviaux en projet - TFP of the "Ville et environnements urbains" master's degree program, co-accredited with Université Lumière Lyon 2, aims to train professionals capable of designing and/or leading ambitious projects to transform territories at all scales, taking into account this changing context. The aim is to consider the territory through the prism of the architectural project, capable of dialectically questioning a physical geography in which the river is a central element. This approach should be seen as a possible opening towards a sustainable design (in its literal sense) of our future human settlements.

Program
Training structure
The City and Urban Environments specialization comprises three M1 and M2 courses. Modes de vies (Lyon 2); Villes en tension (ENTPE); Territoires fluviaux en projet (ENSAL).
Each path accommodates 20 to 25 students (i.e. around 100 for the Mention as a whole) and the hourly volume of activities corresponds to 450 h / year / path.
Specifics of the 2022-2026 program
The pathway carried by ENSAL in the VEU Mention is a pathway developed in the GeoArchitecture by Design master's field of study. GeoArch by Design develops an epistemological approach to architectural practice. It offers tools for analyzing the territory.
Career opportunities
The professions targeted are those involving complex action, knowledge cooperation, coordination and support.
The structures targeted are public or semi-public territorial institutions (urban planning agencies and territorial observatories, local authorities and government departments, social landlords and semi-public companies, etc.), structures from the associative and cooperative worlds.
