Associations

Vie associative ENSAL

ENSAL has a rich, diverse and inclusive community life. The associations represented within the School set the pace for the life of the establishment and contribute to students' open-mindedness. The School defends this associative commitment, which is recognized as a formative factor.

"The associations are all positive. It's what makes moments at school cooler, and it's what lets you breathe a little through learning about responsibilities."

Victor Léouffre
President of BDE 2023

Student office - BDE

The BDE is an association that enables students to get involved in the school's community life. The aim is to organize events on a larger or smaller scale (parties, afterworks, meals, etc.) to forge links between members and all classes.
These events help strengthen exchanges and encounters between students. The organization of the sweatshirt sale is also a major event at the school every year.

The BDE also helps link businesses and the student community through partnerships (Géant des Beaux Arts, Carte Mojjo, Lydia, etc.). These partnerships give students access to advantageous offers, discounts and more.

The BDE is mixed, with members from different classes and a real sense of cohesion. The association's board is renewed every year, so we never run out of innovative ideas. The BDE is active on its social networks where it communicates about all its events.

Sports Office - BDS

The Bureau des sports is the school's sports association. In collaboration with ENTPE's BDS, it offers the opportunity to practice a wide variety of sports such as soccer, tennis, basketball, handball, boxing, swimming, etc. The association also provides access to a swimming pool and a gym. By choosing to practice a sporting activity, it's the opportunity to take part in university matches on Thursday afternoons and develop team spirit.

Throughout the year, the association takes charge of organizing various sporting events that help build bonds. January sees the WES ski weekend. In February, a derby against the Grenoble School of Architecture is organized. In spring, the BDS takes part in the Archipiades. Every year, this legendary multi-sport tournament brings together nearly 3,000 students from all the architecture schools in France.

In addition to these events, students can also take part in ENTPE-related events such as the derby against Centrale Lyon, the Trams, the Toss, the Massilia. This is an opportunity to meet many new people beyond the campus.

A real team spirit is established among association members from all graduating classes, so that we can offer the highest quality events and the most advantageous partnerships to ensaliens and ensaliennes.

Eloquence

Founded in 2017, each year the eloquence brings together a team of student volunteers responsible for organizing and preparing the entire competition. Every year, the eloquence competition creates a lively buzz within the school. Everyone comes together to watch oratorical jousts where humor, emotion and reflection are intertwined.

The eloquence contest

The association's contest has become an unmissable event for those passionate about words and ideas. Now known as the Cercle des Orateurs de l'ENSAL, the association is a member of the Fédération Française de Débat et d'Éloquence. It is driven by a desire to bring students together in a spirit of creativity and exchange, while offering an experience that is both enriching and entertaining first on a regional, then on a national scale.

Participants, from diverse backgrounds, take to the stage to defend their ideas, surprise the audience and convince. The jury is made up of teachers, professionals and former winners. The themes proposed vary each year: they tackle light-hearted, philosophical or even provocative subjects.

More than a simple challenge, this event embodies the spirit of a school where architecture is not limited to buildings, but extends to the construction of ideas and dialogue. The competition represents a unique moment when a passion for the art of speaking unites an entire community. A tradition that, year after year, continues to inspire and thrill ENSAL.
